Learn how to make delicious Jalapeno Popper Egg Rolls. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Gathering your ingredients is like setting the stage for a culinary masterpiece. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 jalapenos, seeded and finely chopped
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

If you prefer a milder flavor, consider using Anaheim peppers instead of jalapenos. For a vegetarian version, simply omit the bacon and add a touch more cheese for extra creaminess.

Instructions

Let’s bring these savory delights to life with these simple steps:

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, chopped jalapenos, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you, like a diamond.
  3. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cheese mixture onto the center of each wrapper.
  4. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll tightly. Moisten the top corner with a bit of water to seal the edge.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F. Fry the egg rolls in batches, cooking for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Remember, practice makes perfect! Rolling the egg rolls can be a bit tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’ll become second nature. I like to involve my husband Marco in this step, making it a fun little kitchen date.
