Learn how to make delicious Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Shrimp. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

If you’re unable to find fresh shrimp, frozen shrimp can be a fantastic substitute — just make sure they’re fully thawed before cooking. You can also swap out the Parmesan for Pecorino Romano for a slightly sharper taste. And if fresh parsley isn’t on hand, dried parsley works in a pinch, although it won’t provide the same vibrant color and freshness.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This step is crucial to ensure your shrimp cook evenly and achieve that desirable crisp texture.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the shrimp are well coated.
  3. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and mix gently to distribute evenly across the shrimp.
  4. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to allow hot air to circulate and cook the shrimp uniformly.
  5. Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. You’ll know the shrimp are done when they turn a beautiful pink color and the cheese is golden and crispy.
  6. Transfer the cooked shrimp to a serving platter. Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

The air fryer has become one of my favorite kitchen gadgets, akin to how my grandmother’s old cast iron skillet was her trusty companion in the kitchen. Just as she taught me to rely on my senses, I encourage you to adjust the cooking time slightly based on your air fryer model and the size of your shrimp.
