Learn how to make delicious BAKED APPLE FRITTERS. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or your favorite)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This ensures easy cleanup and prevents sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. This dry mix forms the base of your fritters.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing until just incorporated. Avoid overmixing to keep the fritters tender.
  5. In a small bowl, toss the diced apples with lemon juice to prevent browning. Fold the apples (and nuts, if using) into the batter.
  6. Scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small mounds. Leave space between each mound as they will spread slightly.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the fritters are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the fritters to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
