Learn how to make delicious BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Lasagna. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your choice, but I love a smoky variety)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional for garnish)

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can swap the ground beef for turkey or even a plant-based alternative. The BBQ sauce can also be tailored to your taste, whether you prefer something more tangy or sweet.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Add the BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the beef. Stir to combine and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese and egg until smooth.
  6. To assemble the lasagna, spread a layer of the beef mixture at the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Place a layer of noodles over the beef, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, half of the bacon crumbles, and a third of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  8. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles and a generous topping of the remaining cheeses.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions if desired.

When I make this lasagna, I always think of the patience and care my abuela put into every meal. Remember, cooking is an art, not a science, so feel free to adjust the ingredients to suit your taste.
