Learn how to make delicious Brownie Pecan Pie. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade if you prefer)

Feel free to substitute the semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate chips for a richer flavor, or use walnuts if you prefer a different nutty twist.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a homemade pie crust, roll it out and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and half of the pecan halves.
  6. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Arrange the remaining pecan halves decoratively on top of the brownie batter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the brownie layer is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the pie to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Remember, patience is key here — letting the pie cool ensures that the layers set properly, making it easier to slice.
