Learn how to make delicious Butter Pecan Praline Poke Cake. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
1 box of butter pecan cake mix
1 cup of milk
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 cup of chopped pecans
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup of unsalted butter
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of heavy cream
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
In a large bowl, combine the butter pecan cake mix, milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat until well blended, about 2 minutes.
Fold in the chopped pecans, then pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes.
While the cake is cooling, make the praline sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the brown sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
Using a fork, poke holes all over the cake. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
Next, pour the warm praline sauce evenly over the top. Let the cake cool completely, about 30 minutes, before serving.
