Learn how to make delicious Cajun Shrimp and Salmon with Garlic Cream Sauce. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets, skinless
  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Feel free to substitute the salmon with another firm fish like cod, and adjust the level of Cajun seasoning to suit your spice preference.

Instructions

  1. Start by seasoning the salmon fillets and shrimp with Cajun seasoning. Make sure each piece is well coated to ensure that spicy kick.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets and cook for about 4 minutes on each side, until they’re golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the salmon.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and melt the butter in the skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Let the mixture simmer gently for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese melts into the sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice to taste.
  7. Return the salmon and shrimp to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Allow them to heat through for a minute or two.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately for a meal that’s sure to impress.
