  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and softened butter. Mix until the ingredients form a crumbly dough.
  3. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow it to cool slightly while you prepare the filling.
  4. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, and vanilla extract. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and heated through.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over the baked crust, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.
  6. Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly and the pecans are toasted.
  7. Allow the bars to cool completely in the dish before cutting into squares. This helps the caramel set and makes it easier to slice.
