Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, and red onion
Feel free to substitute the cheddar cheese with Monterey Jack or pepper jack for a spicier kick. If you’re short on breadcrumbs, crushed Ritz crackers work beautifully as well.
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, ranch seasoning mix, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well blended.
- Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties, making sure they are slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink while cooking.
- Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a dash of olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Cook the patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Look for a nice golden-brown crust as a visual cue.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble your burgers by placing the cooked patty on the bottom half of the bun, followed by your choice of toppings.
- Finish with the top bun, serve immediately, and enjoy!
