Learn how to make delicious Cheesy Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or substitute with ground turkey for a lighter option)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions, green and red bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté until they are soft and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside. In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Drain any excess fat from the skillet. Return the vegetables to the skillet with the beef, then season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and oregano. Stir to combine.
  6. Reduce the heat to low, then add the cream cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the mixture is creamy.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella and provolone cheeses.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
