Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- Fresh cherries and mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Feel free to swap the cherry pie filling with homemade cherry compote if you’re feeling adventurous, or substitute with blueberries, strawberries, or even a mix of your favorite berries for a unique twist!
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand. Press a portion of this mixture into the bottom of your trifle dish to form the base layer.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture, creating a light and fluffy cheesecake filling.
- Layer the trifle by adding a third of the cheesecake mixture on top of the graham cracker base, followed by a generous layer of cherry pie filling.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cheesecake filling on top.
- Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the trifle to set. For best results, let it chill overnight.
- Before serving, garnish with fresh cherries and mint leaves for an extra pop of color and freshness.
