Learn how to make delicious Chicken with Buttered Noodles. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Gather these ingredients, and you’re on your way to creating a delicious meal:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (for extra flavor, or water as a substitute)

Feel free to add a splash of lemon juice or a pinch of red pepper flakes for an extra kick, just like I do when I want to bring a bit of zest to the dish.

Instructions

  1. Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove the chicken and let it rest before slicing.
  3. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Stir in the cooked noodles, Parmesan cheese, and chicken broth, mixing until the noodles are well coated and the cheese is melted.
  6. Slice the cooked chicken and add it to the noodles. Toss to combine.
  7. Finish by sprinkling chopped parsley over the top before serving.

Cooking with intuition, as I learned from my grandmother, often yields the best results, so feel free to adjust the flavors to your liking.
