Ingredients
Gather these simple ingredients to create a dish that’s both satisfying and flavorful. Feel free to make substitutions based on what you have on hand.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small head of cabbage, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
If you’re looking to mix things up, ground turkey or chicken can be used in place of beef. For a vegetarian version, try swapping the meat for tofu or mushrooms.
Instructions
Follow these simple steps to bring this delicious dish to life.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until it’s browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, add the garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the cabbage begins to soften.
- Return the beef to the skillet with the cabbage. Add the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with sliced green onions before serving. Enjoy your meal!
