  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 8 slices of thick bread (brioche or challah work wonderfully)
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Maple syrup, for serving
  • Optional: sliced fresh apples for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Spread a generous layer of apple butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Form sandwiches by placing two slices of bread together, apple butter sides facing in.
