Ingredients
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (about 6 slices)
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1/4 cup diced jalapeños (adjust for heat preference)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Feel free to experiment with substitutions. For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. If you’re not a fan of jalapeños, swap them with bell peppers for a milder flavor.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This warm environment will help meld the flavors and create that irresistible cheesy top layer.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Use a hand mixer or a sturdy whisk to blend until smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, sliced green onions, and diced jalapeños. Stir gently to ensure even distribution.
- Add in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly. Top with a little extra cheddar cheese if you’re feeling indulgent — I often do!
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese on top is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. This is the perfect time to set the table and gather your loved ones.
