  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

To bring these sliders to life, you’ll need a few simple ingredients, many of which you might already have on hand. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 12 slider rolls or small dinner rolls
  • 1 pound of roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 12 slices of provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Feel free to substitute with your favorite cheese or add caramelized onions for an extra layer of flavor. The beauty of cooking is in the flexibility and creativity it allows!

Instructions

Ready to transform your kitchen into a haven of irresistible aromas? Follow these steps to create your own batch of French Dip Sliders:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper for easy cleanup later.
  2. Slice the slider rolls in half, keeping the tops and bottoms attached, and place the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the roast beef evenly over the rolls, followed by a slice of provolone cheese on each roll.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  5. Brush half of the butter mixture over the cheese and beef layers. Carefully place the tops of the rolls over the cheese.
  6. Brush the remaining butter mixture over the tops of the slider rolls, ensuring they are well coated.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  8. While the sliders bake, prepare the au jus. In a small saucepan, combine the beef broth and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  9. Once the sliders are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with the au jus on the side for dipping.

As you prepare these sliders, let your senses guide you. Just like my abuela taught me, cooking is as much about intuition as it is about following a recipe.
