Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup white rice, uncooked
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef, and if you prefer, use brown rice instead of white for a nuttier flavor and more fiber.
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the rice, ensuring it’s evenly coated with the garlic butter and beef mixture. Pour in the beef broth, and season with salt and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed the broth.
- As the rice finishes cooking, stir in the heavy cream, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired. Enjoy this dish piping hot, savoring every creamy, cheesy bite!
