Learn how to make delicious Garlic Butter Shrimp & Broccoli Skillet. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cups broccoli florets
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Juice of half a lemon
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once shimmering, add the broccoli florets. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they turn bright green and are tender-crisp. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Remember, as my abuela taught me, the key is to not let the garlic burn, as it can turn bitter.
Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if you’re using them. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
Return the broccoli to the skillet and toss everything together. Drizzle with lemon juice and sprinkle with lemon zest for a fresh finish. Stir to combine all the flavors thoroughly.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Serve hot, enjoying every bite of this comforting and flavorful dish.
