Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crispy fried onions
1/4 cup butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the green beans and potatoes, and cook until just tender, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, heat the butter over medium heat. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk, whisking until smooth. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Combine the cooked green beans and potatoes with the soup mixture, stirring gently to coat the vegetables evenly.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle the crispy fried onions over the top. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the onions are slightly browned.
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
