Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Feel free to substitute ground turkey for a leaner option, or use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter touch without sacrificing creaminess.
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the flour, and cook for an additional 1 minute to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low, and fold in the sour cream until fully combined, creating a smooth, creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and add them to the sauce, tossing to coat the noodles evenly.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving, for a touch of color and freshness.
