- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Feel free to swap the ground turkey for chicken or beef if you prefer, and adjust the spices to suit your palate. This dish is all about making it your own!
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced onions and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- Stir in the garlic, cumin, and smoked paprika, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the bell peppers and soy sauce to the skillet. Stir well to combine, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the peppers are tender yet still vibrant, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro if using. Serve warm and enjoy!
