Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup toffee bits
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Feel free to make substitutions as needed. For instance, if you prefer a nutty twist, consider adding chopped pecans or walnuts. You can also swap out semi-sweet chocolate chips for dark chocolate if you like a richer taste.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until a thick batter forms.
- Fold in the toffee bits and chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan, using a spatula to smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
- Serve and enjoy the sweet, buttery goodness!
As my abuela always said, “Cooking is an art, not a science.” So feel free to adjust the baking time slightly based on your oven and desired level of gooeyness. Remember, the joy is in the process as much as the result.
