Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken tenders
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Feel free to substitute apple cider vinegar with white vinegar if that’s what you have on hand, and adjust the garlic to your taste — though, in my kitchen, the more garlic, the better!
Instructions
- Start by seasoning the chicken tenders with salt and pepper. Let them sit while you prepare the sauce.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until the butter is melted and the ingredients are well combined. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. This sauce is reminiscent of the rich, buttery aromas that filled my childhood home.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken tenders to the skillet.
- Cook the tenders for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. The key is to get a nice sear on them, locking in the juices.
- Reduce the heat to medium and pour the honey butter garlic sauce over the chicken. Toss the tenders in the sauce until they are well coated and the sauce starts to thicken slightly, about 2-3 more minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately, and enjoy the symphony of flavors with every bite!
