Learn how to make delicious Jalapeno Popper Pigs in a Blanket. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 small smoked sausages or cocktail wieners
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 jalapenos, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: Ranch dressing or sour cream for dipping

If you’re looking to dial down the heat, feel free to substitute the jalapenos with mild green chilies. You can also swap the cheddar cheese with Monterey Jack for a different flavor profile.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This is a step I always remind myself of first, as my grandmother taught me the importance of preparation in the kitchen.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, chopped jalapenos, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture over each triangle.
  4. Place a sausage at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up towards the tip. Ensure the dough wraps around completely.
  5. Arrange the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg to give them a golden, glossy finish once baked.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving with your choice of ranch dressing or sour cream for dipping.
