Learn how to make delicious Lemon-Garlic Sea Bass with Creamed Spinach. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
4 fillets of sea bass (about 6 ounces each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
Juice and zest of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 pound fresh spinach
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This is a great time to get the kitchen buzzing with excitement, just like when my siblings and I would crowd around the oven waiting for abuela’s creations.
Season the sea bass fillets with salt and pepper. In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, lemon juice, and zest. Set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sea bass, skin-side down, and cook until the skin is crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
Flip the fillets, then spoon the garlic-lemon mixture over them. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
While the sea bass is in the oven, melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the spinach and cook until wilted, about 3 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the heavy cream and nutmeg. Cook for another 2 minutes before adding the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and well combined.
Once the sea bass is cooked, serve it over a bed of creamed spinach, ensuring each bite delivers a blend of tangy, garlicky sea bass with creamy, cheesy spinach.
