Ingredients
- 1 box of vanilla wafers (about 12 ounces)
- 4-5 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 box (5 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 container (12 ounces) whipped topping, thawed
Feel free to get creative with the ingredients. For a richer flavor, consider using homemade vanilla pudding instead of instant, or add a splash of rum extract for a subtle twist. If you’re a fan of nuts, a sprinkle of toasted pecans on top can add a delightful crunch.
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk, mixing until thoroughly combined.
- Add the pudding mix, cold milk, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture. Beat until the mixture is smooth and thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping with a spatula, taking care not to deflate the mixture.
- In a large serving dish, create a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom. Add a layer of sliced bananas on top of the wafers.
- Spread a portion of the pudding mixture over the bananas, smoothing it out with a spatula.
- Continue layering wafers, bananas, and pudding until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of the pudding on top.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the wafers have softened and the pudding is set.
My tip? Make this dessert a day ahead. Letting it sit overnight allows the flavors to meld beautifully, resulting in an even more delicious experience.
