Learn how to make delicious Steak Poster. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a bit of heat)
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime

Feel free to adjust the spices to your taste or substitute the ribeye with another cut of beef you prefer. Cooking is all about using what you have and making it work for you.

Instructions

  1. Begin by marinating the steak cubes in a mixture of olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Let the flavors meld for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.
  2. While the steak is marinating, prepare your vegetables by slicing the bell peppers and onion, and mincing the garlic.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated steak cubes in batches, searing them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they develop a beautiful crust. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet with the vegetables, and toss everything together. Squeeze the juice of one lime over the top and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
  6. Serve immediately, and enjoy the vibrant flavors with your favorite sides.

Remember, cooking is an art, not a science. Feel free to adjust the cooking times or spice levels to suit your preferences. My abuela always taught me to trust my senses in the kitchen, and it’s a lesson I carry with me every day.
