Learn how to make delicious Sticky Honey BBQ Wings. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
2 pounds of chicken wings
1 cup of BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
1/4 cup of honey
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Chopped cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. This setup allows the wings to cook evenly and become wonderfully crisp.
In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Make sure each wing is well coated. My grandmother always said, “Seasoning is the secret to a memorable meal.”
Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake for 35-40 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
While the wings are baking, mix together the BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the mixture is well combined and heated through. The sauce should be sticky and slightly thickened, just like my abuela’s secret sauces.
Remove the wings from the oven and brush them generously with the sticky honey BBQ sauce. Return them to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to glaze the wings beautifully.
Once done, let the wings rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired, giving a fresh pop of color and flavor.
