Learn how to make delicious Sticky Honey Chicken. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/3 cup honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons sesame seeds (for garnish)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
Begin by patting the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken thighs and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Stir to combine and let the mixture simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Return the chicken to the skillet, turning to coat each piece in the sticky honey sauce. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Transfer the Sticky Honey Chicken to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
