Learn how to make delicious Sticky Honey Garlic Meatballs. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or substitute with ground turkey for a leaner option)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for slurry)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet. My abuela always said the key to tender meatballs is handling them gently.
  4. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are cooked through and slightly browned.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan, stirring until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. If my grandmother taught me anything, it’s to follow your senses—when the sauce coats the back of a spoon, it’s ready.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the sticky honey garlic glaze over them. Toss gently to coat all the meatballs evenly.
  8. Optional: Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
