Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
If you’re out of olive oil, feel free to substitute with avocado oil or melted butter for a richer flavor. As always, use what you have and don’t stress about substitutions.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the spice mixture generously over the top and sides of each fillet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The cooking time might vary slightly depending on the thickness of your fillets.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. This resting time allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
- Serve with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of fresh parsley, if desired.
Remember, cooking is about trusting your instincts. As my abuela taught me, let your senses guide you — the aroma of the spices and the color of the salmon will tell you when it’s perfect.
