Ingredients
- 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 8 ounces of brie cheese, rind removed
- 1 cup cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional for added sweetness)
- Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Feel free to substitute the cranberry sauce with fig jam or apricot preserves for a different twist. And if you’re feeling adventurous, a sprinkle of crushed walnuts can add an extra layer of texture.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush them lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper for added flavor.
- Toast the baguette slices in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- While the crostini are toasting, slice the brie into small, even pieces that will fit on top of the baguette slices.
- Once the crostini are ready, remove them from the oven and immediately place a piece of brie on each slice. Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the brie is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and top each slice with a generous spoonful of cranberry sauce. Drizzle with honey if desired.
- Garnish with fresh thyme leaves to add a pop of color and a hint of earthy flavor.
- Serve warm and enjoy the beautiful combination of flavors.
