Ingredients
- 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Feel free to substitute the walnuts with pecans for a slightly different nutty flavor. If you’re looking to cut back on sugar, you can swap honey with maple syrup for a subtle difference in sweetness.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Place the pear halves in the baking dish, cut side up. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
- Evenly distribute the crumbled feta and dried cranberries into the hollowed core of each pear half.
- Drizzle honey over the top of the pears, ensuring it seeps into the filling.
- If using, sprinkle chopped walnuts over the pears for added crunch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and easily pierced with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm.
I remember the first time I made this dish; the aroma wafting through the kitchen was simply irresistible, reminiscent of the times I’d watch my abuela infuse our home with scents that beckoned everyone to the table.
