Ingredients
Before we get started, let’s gather our ingredients. Each one plays a crucial role in bringing out the best in the salmon.
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
If you’re out of soy sauce, tamari can be a great gluten-free substitute. And if you prefer a touch of heat, a pinch of red pepper flakes in the glaze could add a delightful kick.
Instructions
Let’s get cooking! Follow these steps to bring your salmon to life:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, soy sauce, and olive oil until well combined.
- Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.
- Brush the brown sugar mixture generously over each fillet, ensuring they are well coated.
- Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Keep an eye out for a beautiful caramelized glaze on top.
- While the salmon is baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the lemon juice and remove the garlic butter from the heat.
- Once the salmon is done, drizzle the garlic butter over the top of each fillet.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy!
