Ingredients
- 1 pre-made pizza crust (or make your own if feeling adventurous!)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (I love using a smoky, slightly sweet sauce for depth)
- 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken breast (grilled or rotisserie works great)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
If you’re looking to switch things up, try using gouda cheese instead of mozzarella for a smoky flavor or add some jalapeños for a spicy kick.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. This high temperature will give your pizza a crispy crust.
- Place your pizza crust on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Brush the crust lightly with olive oil to ensure it gets a nice golden color.
- Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Evenly distribute the shredded chicken over the sauce. I like to use leftover grilled chicken from the night before for a quick fix.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the chicken, followed by the red onion slices.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the crust are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Top with avocado slices and fresh cilantro leaves just before serving.
- Slice and enjoy the delightful blend of flavors!
