Ingredients
- 12 slider buns
- 8 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons chopped chives
- Salt and pepper to taste
For a little twist, you can substitute the sausage with turkey sausage or even a plant-based alternative. The cheese can also be swapped for pepper jack if you want a bit of spice!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. Break it into small crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture into a non-stick skillet over medium heat and scramble until just cooked. Remove from heat.
- Place the bottom halves of the slider buns on the prepared baking sheet. Evenly distribute the scrambled eggs over the buns, followed by the crumbled sausage.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the sausage and top with the remaining bun halves.
- Brush the tops of the sliders with melted butter and sprinkle with chopped chives.
- Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
One tip from my kitchen: if you want to add a little more flair, include a slice of avocado or a spoonful of salsa before serving. It’s a nod to my mom’s love for adding a bit of freshness to every dish.
