- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (for cookie dough)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for cookie dough)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cookie dough)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cookie dough)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (for cookie dough)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (for cookie dough)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (for cookie dough)
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips, then pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula.
- To make the cookie dough, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract, followed by the flour and salt. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, then drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough over the brownie batter, pressing down gently.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into bars. Enjoy the delightful contrast of flavors and textures!
