Ingredients
Gathering the right ingredients is crucial, and luckily, this recipe requires only a few simple items. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips (or your preferred chocolate type)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)
- 1/2 cup assorted sprinkles
For substitutions, you can use dark chocolate for a richer flavor or white chocolate for a sweeter touch. If you prefer a different texture, swap coconut oil with butter or omit it entirely.
Instructions
- Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. This will prevent the strawberries from sticking.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is smooth and completely melted.
- Holding a strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off before placing it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Immediately sprinkle your choice of sprinkles over the chocolate-coated strawberry before it sets. This ensures they adhere well.
- Repeat the process with the remaining strawberries.
- Once all strawberries are dipped and decorated, refrigerate them for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
One tip from my experience: make sure the strawberries are thoroughly dry before dipping them. Any moisture can prevent the chocolate from adhering properly.
