Ingredients
- 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
If you’re out of sour cream, Greek yogurt makes a fantastic substitute. And if you prefer a bit of spice, a dash of hot sauce can add a delightful kick.
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and well combined.
- Add the shredded chicken to the bowl. I like to use rotisserie chicken for its rich flavor and convenience—just like those easy weeknight dinners my mom would whip up.
- Stir in the celery, red onion, and pickle relish. These ingredients add a satisfying crunch and a burst of flavor.
- Season with salt and pepper to your taste. Remember, cooking is about following your senses, just like my abuela taught me.
- Gently fold in the fresh parsley. This not only adds freshness but also a beautiful splash of color.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
