Learn how to make delicious Creamy Chicken Alfredo. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional for added warmth)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to let it burn.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Whisk in the Parmesan cheese gradually, allowing it to melt completely into the sauce. Add a pinch of nutmeg if using, for an extra layer of warmth.
  5. Meanwhile, cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and add the butter to the sauce, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  7. Slice the cooked chicken breasts and return them to the skillet, allowing them to soak up the flavors of the sauce.
  8. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat well in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving hot.
