Ingredients
When it comes to creating this delightful dip, you don’t need a pantry full of ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup dill pickles, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried dill)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Feel free to substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream if you’re looking for a lighter option. And if you’re a garlic lover like me, a little extra garlic powder won’t hurt!
Instructions
Creating this dip is as easy as pie—or should I say, as easy as my abuela’s tortillas. Follow these simple steps:
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Use a hand mixer to blend them until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the finely chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, garlic powder, dill, and onion powder to the bowl. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Taste the dip and season with salt and pepper to your liking. If you love a little extra tang, add another splash of pickle juice.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This helps the flavors meld together beautifully.
Growing up, patience wasn’t my strong suit, but waiting for this dip to chill is worth it. Trust me on this one!
