Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can substitute lemon juice for lime juice for a slightly different tang. And if cilantro isn’t your thing, fresh parsley works beautifully as a garnish too!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, lime juice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
- Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each fillet generously with the marinade, ensuring they’re well coated.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. The cooking time may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the fillets.
- Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
My tip for perfect salmon every time is to keep an eye on it after the 12-minute mark. The key is to avoid overcooking, which can dry it out. Let your senses guide you, just as my abuela taught me.
