Learn how to make delicious Epic Stuffed Crust Pizza with Ultimate Cheese Pull. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Creating this pizza at home is easier than you might think. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for an extra cheese pull)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Feel free to customize! Swap out cheddar for gouda if you’re feeling adventurous, or add your favorite toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, or bell peppers.

Instructions

Ready to get started? Here’s how to make this pizza a reality:

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven as it preheats.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the warm water and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Once risen, roll the dough out into a large circle, about 12 inches in diameter.
  6. Sprinkle the outer edge with mozzarella cheese, then fold the dough over the cheese and press to seal the edges, creating the stuffed crust.
  7. Spread pizza sauce over the base of the dough, leaving the crust uncovered.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the sauce.
  9. Season with oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  10. Transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  11. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

One of my favorite memories is of my mom showing me how to seal the stuffed crust. She always said, “A good seal means a great cheese pull!”
