Learn how to make delicious Halloween Pretzel Rods. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 12 large pretzel rods
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Assorted Halloween-themed sprinkles
  • 1/4 cup crushed candy corn (optional)
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (divided)
  • Food coloring (orange, purple, green)

Feel free to mix and match the toppings according to your preference. In our home, creativity was always encouraged, so don’t hesitate to experiment with different candies or even a sprinkle of cinnamon for a unique twist!

Instructions

  1. Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl with 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  2. Divide the melted white chocolate into separate bowls if you plan to use food coloring. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until you achieve your desired shades of orange, purple, and green.
  3. In another bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips with the remaining coconut oil using the same process.
  4. Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, covering about two-thirds of the rod. Use a spoon to help coat the pretzels evenly.
  5. Lay the coated pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with Halloween-themed sprinkles, crushed candy corn, or mini marshmallows.
  6. Let the pretzel rods set at room temperature or in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

From my experience, the key to perfectly coated pretzels is patience. Allowing each layer of chocolate to fully set before adding the next ensures a clean, beautiful finish.
