Learn how to make delicious Hoisin Sriracha Chicken. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce (substitute with tamari for gluten-free option)
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
Add the chicken thighs to the mixture, ensuring each piece is well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for more intense flavors.
Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken thighs.
Cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice caramelized exterior. The kitchen will fill with a tantalizing aroma, much like the ones that filled my childhood home.
Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving. This step always reminds me of the finishing touches my mother used to add to her dishes, making them as beautiful as they were delicious.
