Learn how to make delicious Irresistible Smoked Cajun Cheese Burgers. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.
Total Time:45 minutes
Yield:4 servings
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (preferably 80/20 for juiciness)
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
4 brioche buns
1 large tomato, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
4 lettuce leaves
Optional: pickles, mayo, or your favorite condiments
Instructions
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 375°F. If you don’t have a grill, a cast-iron skillet on the stovetop will work wonders too.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Over-mixing can make the patties tough!
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and gently form each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.
Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and allow it to melt.
While the patties are grilling, lightly toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster for added texture and flavor.
Assemble your burgers by placing the cheese-covered patty on the bottom half of the bun, followed by a slice of tomato, onion rings, and a crisp lettuce leaf. Top with optional pickles and condiments before adding the top bun.
Serve immediately and enjoy the warm, smoky flavors of your creation.
