Ingredients
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/4 pound sliced ham
- 1/4 pound sliced salami
- 1/4 pound sliced pepperoni
- 1/4 pound sliced provolone cheese
- 1/4 pound sliced mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, drained and sliced
- 1/2 cup banana pepper rings, drained
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Feel free to substitute the meats or cheeses with your favorites. My grandmother always taught me to follow my senses, so if you prefer turkey or Swiss cheese, go for it!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Unroll one can of crescent roll dough, and press it into the bottom of the prepared dish, sealing any perforations.
- Layer the ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone, and mozzarella evenly over the dough. Remember how my abuela layered flavors with care? Do the same here!
- Top with roasted red peppers, banana pepper rings, and black olives. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the top for that extra aromatic touch.
- Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the filling, pinching the edges to seal.
- Brush the beaten egg over the top of the dough and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before cutting into squares. Serve warm and enjoy every cheesy, hearty bite!
