Ingredients
Here’s everything you need to bring this delicious meal to life:
- 1 pound flank steak, sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
If you’re out of flank steak, feel free to substitute with skirt steak or even sirloin. And if lemon isn’t your thing, a splash of white wine can add a different kind of zing.
Instructions
Follow these steps to create a dish that’s sure to become a family favorite:
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced steak, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt, then stir in the lemon zest and juice.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, tossing them in the lemon garlic butter. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes until the broccoli is tender yet crisp.
- Return the steak to the skillet, sprinkle with red pepper flakes if using, and toss everything together to coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to warm through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
