Learn how to make delicious Lemon Herb Butter Tilapia. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

If you’re out of fresh dill, don’t fret! You can substitute with fresh thyme or even a pinch of dried dill for a similar aromatic touch.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, parsley, dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Place the tilapia fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Using a brush or spoon, generously coat each fillet with the lemon herb butter mixture.
  4. Bake the tilapia in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. If you like a slightly crispier edge, switch the oven to broil for the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a minute. Garnish with lemon slices and additional parsley before serving.

As you prepare this dish, remember my grandmother’s advice: “Cook with your heart, and it will always taste good.” Feel free to adjust the herbs to your liking, making this recipe truly your own.
