Ingredients
- 1 pound frozen French fries
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
If you’re looking for substitutions, you can swap ribeye with any tender cut of beef, or even chicken for a lighter version. For a spicier kick, add some jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the frozen fries package. Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy.
- While the fries are baking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced ribeye steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the bell pepper and onion. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. Stir in the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Return the steak to the skillet, mixing everything together. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and sprinkle them with a little salt. Top them with the steak and vegetable mixture.
- Sprinkle the provolone and mozzarella cheese over the top. Return to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Remember, the key is to keep the steak slices thin and not overcook them. You want them juicy and tender, just like the ones my mom would make when I was a kid.
